puubuu | [Voice] Fluffy New Feather

[A high-pitched, almost cartoony-cute voice comes out from the journal. Fattycakes records his first journal entry where he woke up, some distance away from the village. He doesn't seem to be aware that others can hear the recording, however.]

Puu! Hello! This thing has a record button, so I guess it's recording! Yoo-puu! Yuppuu, I think it's working!

So... Hello, strange new diary! My name is Fattycakes, and instead of going home, I seem to have ended up in a new world! A new world where I have wings and can talk to humans! I'm excited to be able to talk to humans! Normally all I could do is puu and buu, but now people can understand me!

And wings! They are fluffy and white! I want to be able to fly, buu! But they kind of hurt right now... maybe I'll wait to try and fly later.

I see a village... that seems like the perfect place to scoot to next! With my new talking power, it'll be easy to ask the humans where I am! So, I will be scooting off to the village now! I'll tell you what I find there later, new diary! Bye-bye!

Seeds of love and peace, huh. That sounds nice. What kind of world are you from?

Okay! If I get scared by things happening outside, I'll just crawl in with you!

Mm... My home planet is the home planet of the Puffskis. It's a very pretty place, very natural. It can get kinda boring just puuing and buuing around with other Puffskis, though, so most of us travel around to other worlds. Some Puffskis settle in communities, but I like to travel everywhere and collect stories.

Are you almost here? I can't wait to build my hut with you!

You can travel to other worlds? On purpose?

[And if Fattycakes is watching the sky he might catch a glimpse of a fiery blue phoenix in the sky. Before landing though, Marco switches to his hybrid: half-bird half phoenix-man form and lands behind Fattycakes, switching out of the blue flames and talons into a definitely more ~~pineapple~~ human looking guy.]

Aye, I'm here, turn around. [All human for now.]

Yes! We can travel to other worlds. Mama wants us to travel and make friends with humans, so we do. Some do stay home, but that's just- Puu?

[Fattycakes is distracted by the sight of Phoenix-Marco in the sky, and is staring at the sky until Marco tells him to turn around.]

Puu! [He does turn around. He gives Marco's foot a friendly bump.] Puuu! Hi, Marco! It's nice to meet you! Are you a birdie?

I can be! [Leans down to pat his head!]

I'm kind of both, so it can get confusing to some people, eh. Nice to meet you little matey.

Ooooooh... so you're part-birdie? That's cool! I wish I was part birdie, so I could fly instead of scoot. Actually, now I am part birdie, but these wings apparently don't fly... puup. [He pouts before brightening up.] Did you bring materials? Like, wood and something soft for the ground? If not, that's okay. I have some material left over from the first hut. Oh, and the second one too! Did I tell you about the second hut? A nice man helped me build a hut in the wooded area near the southern bridge! So with this, I'll have a hut on each side of the village, and one in the middle! I can take a pit stop whereeeeeever I want~!

Are you ready to take me to the next place? I want my newest hut to be near Community House 7. Is that okay?

Well maybe you can, if you're light enough.

I didn't bring anything yet, that way I could see your initial design to copy it.

[Nods trying to keep up.] Wow, that was nice of him! Looks like you made a bunch of friends already, eh! Sure. One near CH7, no problem. Would you like a ride on my shoulder or do you prefer scooting?

I bet I'm light enough! I'll try later and we'll see what happens!

Ohhh, okay. Well, I have spare stuff, so that's noooo problem! Could I ride on your shoulder? That'd be muuuuch faster than scooting! Thank you!

Don't get hurt okay?

[Bends down so Fattycakes can hop on.] My pleasure. Let me grab some of your spare things too.

I'll be careful!

[He hops onto Marco's shoulder with a surprising dexterity.] Thank you! Yes, yes, just get some of those planks over there... and that cloth... oh, and that little bag! It has seeds in it for the plant I like to eat. Can you get all that?

No problem~

This way we can stop and get you food too, eh. What do you like to eat?

[Starts picking everything up to carry it with him and making sure it's a tidy bundle and that Fattycakes isn't in danger of falling off.]

Yay~ Thank you!

I normally eat the Pura leaf. Puffskis pack the seeds with them when they travel, and I have some seeds I didn't plant by the other huts. But I like fruit and sweet things, too! Just no chocolate. It's too strong for me. [He's doing just fine on Marco's shoulder, no wobbling or anything. Puffskis are clingy for things with no hands or feet.]

You're quite welcome~ [Pats his head with a single finger like Marco's father often did with him. (Marco's father is ginormous).]

Fruit and sweets, no problem. It's smart that you guys bring the seeds with you, I don't know what I'd do if I wound up some world without my kind of food, eh.

Puuu~ [He wiggles a little upon being petted.] Yes, Puffskis always bring a little settlement kit whenever they move to another world. It consists of the materials for the hut, some Pura leaves, and some Pura seeds. What happens from there is up to the community or the traveler.

[Oh cute wiggling. That of course gets a little more pets as Marco tries to take a good look at the leaves and seeds to see if he can recognize them under another name or if they're similar to something he knos.]

So have you traveled a lot before this?

[The seeds look a little like sunflower seeds, but smaller. The leaves look very large and broad.]

Yes! I've been on many adventures. I mostly travel to watch things happen and have some fun and get some stories to tell my friends, but I help out where I can! One time, I led a bunch of Puffskis into a villain's castle to get the layout of his place. It was intense!

[Awesome. For now he'll consider them Pura.]

Oh? It sounds like it! Was it dangerous or did you do it when he wasn't home to play it safe?

We weren't sure if he was around, but we were short on time, so we had to go in no matter what. He ended up putting me in his pocket! I got out, though. We were able to report the layout of the castle so the humans could come in and save the day! Hooray!

Good job! [Another head pet.] What kind of villain was he?

I didn't catch all that he did. I just know he was a bad man who was attacking my friend's fortress, and he was bad for the kingdom.

[He gives a small hop.] Puu, how close are we to the place now? Sorry, sometimes it's hard to tell how close or far things are when traveling by human. I've got a good sense of distance, but I get a bit thrown off when moving faster sometimes.

Oh ah, let me think. How far are your hops? Or do you measure via the time it takes you?

[Marco has a weird system of measurement, see also Norma's recent freak out post.]

Um... puu... I never really thought about that... I just know whether something is close or far. But I think I'm closer to measuring it in time than in hops, since my hops aren't very far. Are we a few minutes away, or more minutes away? [Well, it's not like he has a watch, so he can't give a precise measure of minutes...]

A few minutes by my normal pace. Running would be seconds, but you might fall off.

Puu, a few minutes? That's good! I can't wait to start building~ [He's looking around from his shoulder perch, taking in the sights of the town.]

You like constructing, huh?

[Marco suspects it's more that Puffskis, or at least Fattycakes, are very excitable and enthusiastic, but that's cool too.]
