puubuu | [Voice] Fluffy New Feather

[A high-pitched, almost cartoony-cute voice comes out from the journal. Fattycakes records his first journal entry where he woke up, some distance away from the village. He doesn't seem to be aware that others can hear the recording, however.]

Puu! Hello! This thing has a record button, so I guess it's recording! Yoo-puu! Yuppuu, I think it's working!

So... Hello, strange new diary! My name is Fattycakes, and instead of going home, I seem to have ended up in a new world! A new world where I have wings and can talk to humans! I'm excited to be able to talk to humans! Normally all I could do is puu and buu, but now people can understand me!

And wings! They are fluffy and white! I want to be able to fly, buu! But they kind of hurt right now... maybe I'll wait to try and fly later.

I see a village... that seems like the perfect place to scoot to next! With my new talking power, it'll be easy to ask the humans where I am! So, I will be scooting off to the village now! I'll tell you what I find there later, new diary! Bye-bye!

[He happily hops up and down.] Puu buu! Puu buu! Hello, Michael! It's nice to meet you! Do you like my hut? [It's a structure just tall enough for him behind him.] It's just a nice, comfy place to sleep and hide from rain since I do most things outside, but it's good enough for me!

You got a little hut! That's great!

[He sits down nearby, pulling an apple from his backpack.]

Do you eat at all, Cakes? Like apples and stuff. If I broke some little pieces from it, would you be able to eat?

Yes! A nice girl named Estelle helped me build it! I kind of wish I'd made it closer to the village, though. Puu, oh well.

[He visibly perks up at the mention of food.] Puu, yes I do! I mostly eat the Pura leaf, which is something a traveling Puffski brings from home, but I can eat many other things, too! You don't need to cut the apple, but that would be nice!~

[Michael instead digs his fingertips into the top and bottom of the apple, pulling it apart into two rough halves. He then lays one of them down next to the puffball.]

There you go, buddy. And the hut looks great. I bet you could have a few of them set up all over the place if you needed it. They look easy enough to build.

Ooooh! You must be strong to be able to break an apple like that! [Fsttycakes flutters his wings in excitement, then begins nibbling away at the apple.] Mmm~ Yummy. Puu~ my huts are built with Puffski magic, so all I need are materials. Would you like to build a hut with me? I don't know where I'd put it, though... maybe closer to the middle of town? Like, by the river?

Sure! I'll be your taxi and won't charge you a thing. Let's finish our apple first, though. I didn't realize my case of the munchies was as bad as it is.

[And he chews a little noisily.]

Puu! Thank you for offering to carry me! It's much faster than scooting. But okay, let's finish the apple! Then... we need to get some more materials for the new hut... I saved some Pura seeds just in case I needed to plant more, so that's good... then we build the new hut! The map says there's a cluster of trees by south bridge, so I think I'd like it there.

I'd be happy to help you plant your seeds, Fattycakes. And whenever you're ready to go, you just give me the word. I'll take you where you need to get!

[He chuckles, finishing off his apple half pretty quickly.]

[Fattycakes is still nibbling away at his apple.] Puu! You eat fast! Give me just a few minutes. Then we can go to the middle of town and build my hut! Or maybe I should eat while we walk, or store the apple for later...? Hmm...

Take your time, little guy. I eat fast because I was a lot more hungry than I thought. Luckily I have trail mix, too. Lots of nuts and raisins. It's great.

If you want me to carry you while you eat I'm fine with doing that, too.

Puu~ carry me, please? Don't worry, I can hold the apple. [The apple appears to levitate slightly off the ground.] See?

Woah! I didn't know you could do things like that, FC! Sure, I'll carry you. Here we go.

[Gently, Michael cups his hands around the little puffball and carefully lifts him up.]

Still got your apple?

Puu~ [He looooooves being held.] Yep! See? [He appears to be holding the apple up for display, but without hands.] Now, let's check out that wooded area near the south bridge!

Tally ho!

[Michael laughs and heads off, glad to be able to help and more than a little mystified by the little puffball.]

Yayyyy! Puu buuuu! How long do you think it'll be till we get there, huh? I guess it won't be too long with you carrying me.

It shouldn't take too long at all, nope! Especially if I jog. It's your choice, bud.

[He smiles down at Fattycakes for a moment before looking up again so he doesn't trip while walking.]

Nah, don't jog. I might get distracted and fall off if you do. [He's already scanning his surroundings, looking around at the town and making a mental note at his surroundings, when suddenly he remembers something.] Oh no! I think we forgot the spare materials and seeds! Can we go back and get those?

Sure! I haven't gone very far.

[Michael is clearly the most faithful and reliable of all mighty steeds. Within a few minutes, they're back where they began.]

Here we are. Get what you need, bud.

Puu... how about this? I ride on your shoulder, and you carry the wood and carpeting and the seeds for me? I can't carry all those things at once... sorry, buu. [Just like that, Fattycakes hops up to Michael's shoulder and perches there.]

Sure. I don't mind helping out. Besides, I wear this giant backpack for a reason, right? I don't mind putting your things in there until we get where we need to go.

[And he starts gathering everything up.]

Yay! Thank you~ [He hops off of Michael's shoulder as he gathers everything up, then hops back on when he finishes.] Shall we go again?

So long as you're sure you have everything this time.

[He grins. After a moment longer of double checking, he heads off again, Fattycakes' own personal Chocobo sans theme music.]

Yup! This is everything. Thank you~

[Fattycakes begins to buu-buu-buu-buu buu buu buuuuu out a traveling song... which, by coincidence, sounds a bit like the Chocobo music, whether he knows that's it or not.]

[Michael laughs as he continues along his merry way. It honestly isn't too long before they near their destination point.]

I think we're just about there, bud.

Good, good! Let's see... where exactly should I put my hut? [He peers forward, trying to find the perfect place.] Maybe I'll go... a bit north of the bridge, but not directly by the river.
